Abstract
Climate Change Superheroes: Introduction to learning about climate change and climate literacy presentation provides teachers with content to engage children on their journey of becoming climate literate. This will highlight learning about the Earth’s climate system and how it is interlinked to climate change.
Description
Climate Change Superheroes modules have been developed for teachers and educators to use in the classroom to guide children’s learning and development about the climate system and climate change issues. The modules are suited for 10–12-year-old children—and even adults who want to learn more about climate change. The modules are accompanied by lesson plans and a range of cross-curricular activities suitable for thematic learning. These materials support the primary school curriculum and the Irish Primary School Curriculum Framework (2023).
Module 1 aims to start the journey of helping children become climate literate.
1. Complete the Explorers Climate Change Superheroes - What I Know About Climate Change Quiz
2. Learn about what climate literacy means.
3. Understand how the Earth's Climate System is interlinked with climate change.
4. Plan the class Explorers Superheroes Climate Change project that helps develop the children's communication and creative skills.
