Geography: 5th and 6th class - Gravity and Tides and understanding how Tides affect me(Marine Institute, 2015)The children will learn about how the earth, moon and sun interact though gravity. The students will develop an understanding of what causes tides. The students will also investigate the importance of tidal prediction and learn to read tide tables.
Investigating tides, where does all the water go?(Marine Institute, 2013)Students will aim to complete a project investigating and researching tides. Each student should seek to develop an understanding of what causes tides and why sea levels change between high and low tide. Investigate and become familiar with tides as a natural feature in the local environment. Explore ways in which tides affect the behaviour of plants, animals and people.
